UArizona ranks among the nation's leaders in the number of doctoral degrees awarded to Native American and Hispanic students, according to data from the National Science Foundation.

Shelly Lowe was nominated by President Joe Biden to chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities. She would be the first Native American and second woman to lead the NEH.

The university is among 35 Hispanic-Serving Institutions to receive the new designation, which recognizes HSIs that are highly engaged with the Fulbright international educational exchange program.

A week of Homecoming events begins Oct. 31 with the lighting of "A" Mountain and ends Nov. 6 as Arizona Football takes on Cal. The theme of this year's in-person celebration is "Wildcats Together Again."

UArizona space sciences stood out in U.S. News & World Report's 2022 Best Global Universities rankings, finishing No. 2 among public U.S. universities and No. 10 in the world.
